Toppers felicitated

Office-bearers of Rotaract clubs installed

TIRUCHI: Felicitation to the toppers of the public examinations of nine higher secondary and high schools in the BHEL Township, distribution of financial assistance to a elementary school and learning aids to poor students marked the installation of the new office-bearers of the Rotaract Club of BHEL City and Rotaract Club of Centenary held here recently.

The president of the Roaty Club of Tiruchi, B. Mohan installed J. Yogesh as the president of the Rotaract Club of BHEL City and D. Dinagaran as the president of the Rotaract Club of Centenary and their team of office-bearers. The secretary of the Rotary Club of Tiruchi inducted the new members of both the Rotaract Clubs.

The General Manager, HR, BHEL, T. Anandan, who was the chief guest, commended the yeoman service rendered by both the clubs in reaching out to the disadvantaged sections, especially children. He gave away mats, trays, water drums etc to the panchayat union schools and a cheque of Rs. 5,000 for the construction of toilet block in Tiruvalluvar Gurukula Elementary School, Devarayaneri, which mainly catered to the Narikurava children.

The whole service projects worth Rs.30,000 were sponsored by a former member of the Rotaract Club of BHEL City M. Muruganandam, who was also a former Rotaract Representative.

Advisor to Rotaract Clubs, I. Samuel Christdoss explained the four decades of service by Rotaract movement. Rotaract Club of BHEL City celebrated its Charter Day also on the occasion and special light and sound show was arranged to highlight the service activities of the clubs in the past.
