Gayathry betters her record

TIRUVARUR: Three new meet records were set in the girls’ section of the 23rd Tamil Nadu junior inter-district athletics championship conducted by Tiruvarur District Athletics Association here.

In the under-18 section, G. Gayathry clocked 14.1 seconds in 100m hurdles and bettered her own record of 14.5 seconds set in Karur last year.

K. Anandhi scaled 1.67m in high jump and eclipsed P. Sheetal’s effort of 1.64m. T. Manisha in the under-16 section hurled the javelin to a distance of 33m and overhauled her own record of 32.33m.
