CHENNAI: The Elliots beach will be the venue for the world level BSNL-FIVB Chennai Challenger beach volleyball championship from July 17 to 20. “It will be an exciting competition with Indians mingling with the World’s top ranked pairs (from rank 32 to 64),” said I. Vijayakumar, Chairman of the Organising Committee at a press conference on Saturday. The Marina beach volleyball club has been entrusted with the task of conducting the event. Mr Vijayakumar said with players from various parts of the world in the fray including the leading force in the World — Brazil — it would be qulality fare.
With around seven Indian pairs, including women, in the fray there will be much to cheer for the spectators. The Tournament Director Martin Sudhakar said pairs from 21 countries had entered the competition.
