Recent exodus by senior leaders like Bhuma Nagi Reddy and T. Devender Goud from the TDP is a setback to the party, if the present political scenario in the State is to be considered. Now, the TDP has to face Congress Party, and Chiranjeevi’s party, if it was launched, across the State. And, of course, presence of the TRS will divide votes in Telangana region. The exodus of senior leaders in Telangana and Rayalaseema is no good sign for the party, and more so, there are many internal bickering in Coastal districts, more particularly Krishna and Guntur districts. Chandrababu Naidu should come out of his coterie and value the suggestion of seniors. L. Parameswara Sastry Guntur Adhere to timingsThe electricity department has announced that a two-hour power cut per day is inevitable in the State. The authorities concerned are requested to adhere to the timings. The untimely power cut in Poranki area is causing many hardships to housewives. The housewives do not get time to complete their domestic chores in time due to untimely power cut. The power supply was erratic with frequent fluctuations in the supply during the night. Adhering to timings would help the house wives in planning their day to day schedule. P. Bhanumathi Poranki Immoral allianceSoon after T. Devender Goud left the TDP to launch his new political outfit, there were reports in a section of media that TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu had a secret conversation with the TRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao. Interestingly, neither the TDP nor the TRS condemned the reports that appeared in media. With this, it is clear that the TDP and TRS are attempting to forge an alliance in next elections. If it comes true, nothing more would be immoral than this alliance. The TDP should issue a categorical statement that it is in favour of Telangana state, if it forges an alliance with the TRS. And, at the same time should explain why the TDP will not retract its promise as Congress did. V. Amulya Vijayawada Toys can be harmfulIt is well known that most of the manufacturers of children’s toys are using chemicals and poisonous material in making various toys. These toys available all over the State are hazardous to health. It seems there is no control on these manufacturers of unbranded companies in taking precautionary measures including label declaration. The parents happily purchase these toys and hand them over to their children, exposing them to harmful chemical and poisonous materials. The parents should be alert while purchasing them and prefer branded ones in their own children’s interest. At the same time, the authorities concerned should take necessary steps to control the companies that use chemical and poisonous materials. H. Kalyan Rao Guntur Looking for alternativeThe political party expected to be launched by film celebrity Chiranjeevi appears to bugging TDP leader N. Chandrababu Naidu. There are reports in media that the TDP Polit bureau spent hours on discussing the possible impact of Chiranjeevi’s proposed party in next elections. Naidu is reportedly planning to join hands with the Left parties to take on Chiranjeevi. But, if the manner in which the people, more particularly women, are making efforts to enrol the people even before the party was launched, clearly indicates that the people are looking for another alternative. It’s real litmus test for Naidu’s leadership in next elections. T. Poornanada Rao Machilipatnam © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
