Rationalist marriages on the rise: Stalin

TIRUPATTUR: Rationalist marriages are getting popular as they are acknowledged by the law, Local Administration Minister M.K. Stalin said here on Monday.

Participating in a series of marriage functions in Vaniyambadi and Tirupattur, he said leaders such as Periyar, C.N. Annadurai and Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi had been the forces behind the people to accept rationalist marriages.

Tirupattur MP T.Venugopal, Ranipet MLA R. Gandhi, Natrampalli MLA N.K.R. Suriya Kumar, Tirupattur Municipality Chairperson Chockammal Tulasinathan, Vaniyambadi Municipality Chairman V. Sivaji Ganesan and Tirupattur DMK Town Secretary S. Rajendran spoke.
