Tiruchi, Pudukottai, Perambalur, Ariyalur and Karur will come under the new office TIRUCHI: The IFFCO-TOKIO General Insurance opened its regional office here on Monday. The office, having jurisdiction over Tiruchi, Pudukottai, Perambalur, Ariyalur and Karur districts, will strive for the welfare of farmers of these districts. Speaking on the occasion, Vice-President of IFFCO-TOKIO General Insurance, Coimbatore Zone, said that the insurance scheme would strengthen the grass-root level co-operative societies. A total of 150 Primary Agricultural Co-operative Societies in these districts have been nominated as agents. The revenue to the cooperative bodies would be stepped up through the insurance scheme. The women members of self-help groups attached to these cooperative bodies, who would act as sub-agents, would also benefit in a big way. Mr. Neelakandan said that a target of Rs. 100 crore had been fixed for the State, including Rs. 3 crore for Tiruchi region.
