Facile win for St. Philomena’s

BANGALORE: St. Philomena’s (Bellary) crafted a facile 5-0 win over Sacred Hearts in the inter-school girls’ hockey tournament played here on Monday.

P. Vijaylakshmi (6th and 27th) and Krishna Priya (21st and 23rd) scored a brace each and R. Keerthana (14th) also contributed.

In another match, Frank Anthony Public School beat Best School 1-0 with B Meghana (23rd) scoring the match winner. In a third fixture, Bishop Cotton’s ‘A’ beat Sports School (Kudige) 2-0. Disha (6th) and Mahima Alvares (49th) found the target.

The semifinals are scheduled for Tuesday with St. Philomena’s (Bellary) pitted against Sports School (Kudige) at 1.30 p.m. and Bishop Cotton’s ‘A’ facing its ‘B’ team at 2.45 p.m.
