Bouquets, brickbats for HMs

Staff Reporter

KHAMMM: It was a day of bouquets and brickbats for 570 headmasters and principals as performance of their high schools, especially the pass percentage achieved by them came up for a review here on Tuesday.

Some 43 of them were felicitated and their efforts commended for achieving cent per cent results in the SSC examination.

Collector Shashibhushan Kumar, who made use of the annual conference of the headmasters and mandal education officers for a post mortem of the SSC results, wanted some of the participants to measure their own performance reflecting on failures and not just success alone. The Collector wanted headmasters to pay special attention to completion of syllabus in November thus giving sufficient time for revision.

He said teachers handling English, mathematics and general science would be spared from non academic duties.

Teachers identified listed surplus in the primary schools would be deputed to high schools whereever necessary. DEO Ch. Ramana Kumar also spoke.
