Live wire falls on goods train

VILLUPURAM: An overhead electric cable snapped and fell on a goods train at the Janakipuram railway gate near here on Wednesday morning. Driver Thirumurugan, on noticing sparks in the engine, stopped the train and informed railway officials.

Following the incident, the Anantapuram Express and Rameswaram Express made an unscheduled halt for three hours at the nearby Kandambakkam railway station.

Road traffic was also disrupted for a few hours. — Special Correspondent
