Loan waiver helping only defaulters: TDP

KURNOOL: TDP district president Byreddy Rajasekhar Reddy on Wednesday decried the farm loan waiver scheme saying it helped only defaulter farmers.

Talking to reporters, he took exception to the Congress leaders and the government functionaries celebrating the loan waiver scheme with crackers and beating of drums.

Mr. Reddy said the scheme caused serious heartburn among the genuine farmers who repaid and renewed the loans sincerely irrespective of their financial status.

He challenged the ruling party leadersfor an open debate on the scheme.
