Sankalpa puja planned

RAMANATHAPURAM: Sri Ranga Ramanuja Desigar of Srirangam Srimath Andavan Mutt will begin a two-month sankalpa puja from Friday at Thirupullani near here.

Sri Ramanujar reached Thirupullani on Tuesday to perform the puja. A host of his followers and members of Srirangam Srimath Andavan Mutt at Thirupullani received him.

On the occasion of the first day of Adi month, he took a holy bath at Sethukarai. He will visit Sri Adhi Jagannathar Temple at Thirupullani on Thursday before starting the puja.

S. Sridhar, Manager of the Srimath Andavan Mutt, in a press release, said he would stay till September 15 and perform the puja. Elaborate arrangements were made to conduct the puja.

A 20-member committee had been formed to oversee the arrangements. Devotees and followers from Bangalore, Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad and other places would attend the puja.
