Work inspector held on graft charge

HYDERABAD: Technical work inspector in the office of AP State Housing Corporation, Dattirajeru mandal, in Vizianagaram district, Ajjala Henry Johnson, was arrested on Tuesday after he was ‘caught’ by ACB officials while taking Rs.25,000 as bribe for doing an official favour. A press release from the ACB stated here on Wednesday that Johnson had demanded the amount for effecting part payment of Rs. 305,900 to 44 beneficiaries under the Indiramma scheme in S. Chitalavalasa village.

In another case, K. Rajappala Naidu, VRO of Govindapuram, Laveru mandal in Srikakulam district, was arrested by ACB sleuths after he accepted Rs.1, 600 from a complainant for issuing pattadar passbook.
