SBT beats Black Arrows

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Defending champion State Bank of Travancore laboured to a 1-0 win over Black Arrows in the Thiruvananthapuram District super division football league at the Chandrasekharan Nair stadium here on Wednesday.

Asif Saheer scored the all-important goal in the 35th minute of play.

In another match St. Mary’s FC, Vettucadu blanked Coastal Club 3-0.

Renjith (18th), Prasanth (29th) and Johnson (85th) scored the goals for the winner. — Principal Correspondent

KVB Menon chess

The KVB Menon memorial chess tournament will be held at the Russian Culture Centre in Thiruvananthapuram on July 19 and 20 respectively.
