Frank Anthony posts win

BANGALORE: Frank Anthony Public School defeated Dream-A-Dream 4-2 in the Centenary Shield inter-school boys hockey tournament for seniors at the KSHA Stadium here on Wednesday.

Joshua (23rd, 25th and 48th) and Carlos Lopez (43rd) scored for Frank Anthony’s while Lawrence (16th) and Kannan (27th) scored for Dream-A-Dream.

Bishop Cotton and Sarla Birla Academy will play the first semifinal for seniors on Thursday at 10.45 a.m.

In the Father Eric Vaz memorial tournament for juniors, Baldwin Boys High School beat St. Joseph’s Boys High School ‘B’ 5-1.

Kanju Jam (11th, 20th and 57th) and Anup (15th and 53rd) scored for Baldwin,

Suraj (2nd) scored for St. Joseph’s.

Independence Cup football

Dakshina Kannada District Football Association is conducting the 12th Independence Cup tournament for primary, high school (boys and girls), pre-university college, and Degree College including professional college students at Nehru Maidan, Mangalore, from August 2.

Interested teams should register their names with the association at the football pavilion on or before July 20.
