Probe into GUM City school

Sangareddy: Medak district Joint Collector Ramshankar Nayak and a team of revenue officials and District Medical and Health Officer (DM&HO) visited the Gospel of Unreached Millions City (GUM City) in Sadasivapet on Wednesday following the directions given by the State Human Rights Commission. The Commission, which had received two complaints, one from an SSC student Mamata belonging to the missionary school and the other by local legislator T. Jayaparkash Reddy. The student in her complaint alleged that the management was harassing her by refusing to release her Transfer Certificate (TC) and other bonafides. The Joint Collector and his team were made to wait at the outer gate of the GUM City for more than half-an-hour as they arrived to investigate the allegations. The team then visited both the school and its residential area. The Joint Collector verified the records of the SSC students. Later, speaking to reporters, he said that he would send his findings to the Human Rights Commission.
