CHENNAI: The Government Railway Police launched an awareness campaign on safety and crime prevention aspects at the Chennai Central Station here on Wednesday.

The Southern Railway Additional General Manager, A.P. Misra, released pamphlets and posters which listed do’s and don’ts for passengers on railway premises.

The pamphlets were distributed to passengers.

Inspector General of Police (Railways) G. Uma Ganapathi Shastry said the awareness programme would be conducted at all major stations in the zone.

Deputy Inspector General of Police (Railways) P. Sivanandi, Superintendent of Railway Police M.C. Sarangan, and Tiruchi SRP Rajasekhar, were present during the campaign launch, police sources said.
