Semmangudi centenary

The centenary celebrations of Semmangudi Srinivasa Iyer organised by Sri Semmangudi Srinivasa Iyer Golden Jubilee Foundation and the Centenary Celebration Committee, gets under way on July 24 at the Music Academy with the vocal concert of Ranjini and Gayatri, 6.30 p.m. The four-day event includes more concerts, CD releases, interactive session with R. Vedavalli as moderator and group renditions. On July 25, the former President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam will release a coffee table book on the doyen authored by V. Subramaniam and V. Sriram. A special postal cover will also be released on the occasion.
