NEW DELHI: Mahindra & Mahindra on Thursday unveiled its CNG pick-up vehicle — Bolero Pik Up — in the pay-load of 1-1.5 tonne. Priced at Rs. 5.42 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and equipped with 75 BHP engine, the new vehicle would offer savings of up to 40 per cent on operating cost compared to a diesel vehicle.

Addressing a press conference here, Mahindra and Mahindra Vice President (Marketing-Auto Sector) Vivek Nayer said its powerful engine would provide superior pulling power in the loaded condition. The fuel-efficient and environment-friendly flatbed pick up is perfect answer to Delhi’s need as it will cater to a large section of customers here. Soon the vehicle would also be launched in Mumbai and Gujarat, he added. Taking about launching more fuel-efficient and environment-friendly vehicles, Mr. Nayer said Mahindra was planning to introduce the CNG version of its popular sports utility vehicle (SUV) Scorpio, besides launching electric vehicles.
