National supercross first leg on Sunday

Hyderabad: The first leg of the FMSCI National Supercross Challenge five-race series, sponsored by MRF Tyres and co-sponsored by TVS Motor Company and Kalyani Brakes will be held at the NTR Grounds, near Indira Park on July 20 from 10 a.m..

About 120 entries are expected for the five categories, said Shyam Kothari, President, Sportstrek, the organiser of the event, at a press conference here on Thursday.

Among them will be internationals C.S. Santosh of TVS Racing and Veer Patel of Baroda. The qualifying rounds for the five classes, viz; foreign open between 250 and 500 cc, novice, Indian Experts (Group B), Locals and Indian Experts (group C), all upto 165 cc, will be held on Saturday.

This will be preceded by the scrutiny on Friday. On competition day, a maximum of 25 riders at a time will come under starter’s orders at the gate.

Pune will host the next leg on October 25.
