Members of the Andhra Pradesh Girijan Vidyarthi Sangham took out a protest rally from Press Club at Basheerbagh to Vidyuth Soudha, resenting the decision taken by the AP Transco to allow 25 weightage marks to B.Tech graduates in respect of recruitment of assistant engineers.

On reaching Vidyuth Soudha, they announced they would intensify the agitation if the Transco went ahead with the plan. Allotment of any weightage marks would do injustice to candidates with rural background, they contended.
