The city unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has demanded that time limit for conversion of pink cards to white cards should be 15 days instead of a week as announced by the Civil Supplies Department. One week time would not be sufficient, as many of the people, who avail the opportunity were daily labourers, who cannot afford to lose even one-day’s wage. The BJP city publicity secretary D. Chandrasekhar Rao said that the fee for the application form should also be brought down to Rs. 2 from Rs. 10, he said.
