‘Budget ignores health sector’

Special Correspondent

Bangalore: Reacting to the Karnataka Budget, Bangalore Chamber of Industry and Commerce (BCIC) president N.N. Upadhyay said although it made allocations for economically weaker sections, it failed to allocate resources which would result in immediate employment opportunities.

He pointed out that not enough has been provided for universities, government-run and aided schools, which would make education affordable for the poor. He also observed the health sector has not received “material attention.”
