DINDIGUL: Hundreds of devotees witnessed car festival of Sri Soundararaja Perumal Temple at Vadamaudrai near here on Friday evening. Accompanied by chanting of hymns and beating of percussion instruments, the devotees pulled the car through the four rath streets in the town. Earlier, special abishekam and pujas were performed to the presiding deity and utsavamurthy. The Lord along with goddesses were taken in a procession around the temple and later mounted on a decorated temple car. Special pujas were performed to the deities before commencement of the procession. The celestial wedding of the lord took place on Wednesday.
