THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Nadukkara Agro Procession Co. Ltd. (NAPCL), established by the Government of Kerala with the support of the European Union at Muvattupuzha, has launched two coconut-based beverages, JIVE Pensacola and JIVE coco water, with the cooperation of the Coconut Development Board. Agriculture Minister Mullakkara Ratnakaran conducted the first sale of the products. Babu Paul, MLA; company chairman Paul Mathew Nellipally; vice-chairman V.K. Vijayan; managing director K. Sasikumar; and Coconut Development Board director Muralidharan were present. The NAPCL employs modern technology of aseptic packaging to ensure value addition of the agriculture products and market them under the brand name ‘JIVE.’ Seventy per cent of the company’s share is owned by farmers and the remaining 30 per cent by the Government of Kerala. The company is ISO 9001-2000, HACCP certified. Officials of NAPCL said the ‘JIVE’ brand products were manufactured from natural fruit juice.
