Sugumar puts RSC in final

Coimbatore: Sugumar (26 pts) helped Rajalakshmi Sports Club (RSC) beat Armed Police 91-68 in the semifinal of the 54th YMCA basketball tournament for seniors for the S. Venkatakrishnan Trophy at the YMCA courts here on Friday.

The result: Semifinal:

Rajalakshmi SC 91 (Sugumar 26) bt Armed Police 68 (Rajendran 23).

Devanga advances

Devanga defeated Kikani HSS 3-2 via tie-breaker and entered the second round of the inter-school hockey tournament for the Kids Fashions, Seagull Associates-Jayachitra Garments Trophy at the Bharathiar University grounds on Friday.

At Salem, T. Suresh Kumar picked five for 25 in Rock Cricket Club’s five-wicket win over TUG Cricket Club in the Canara Bank-SDCA first division league at the SSP grounds recently.
