Soft loans for pregnant women

Soft loans of Rs. 2,000 can be availed by pregnant women attached to self-help groups. A certificate from a medical practitioner should be submitted along with the application, to be processed by bankers. There are about 40 cooperative banks in Madurai district. The applicants may utilise the money for their small needs during pregnancy. The SHGs may inform their members to utilise the loan facility, said a release.
