‘Students Laptop Scheme’ expo

CHENNAI: To popularise the ‘Students Laptop Scheme’, the Electronics Corporation of Tamil Nadu (ELCOT) will hold a display-cum-demonstration of its latest offering at Periyar Maligai, Nandanam on Saturday.

In a release, ELCOT managing director C. Umashankar said that similar display-cum-demonstrations would be held at Collectorates throughout the State from 9.30 am to 6 pm on Saturday.

At least 25 laptops would be set aside for this purpose at each centre.

ELCOT proposes to sell the fully-loaded laptop for Rs. 28,297 and the laptop with higher configuration is being offered at Rs. 30,497.

The scheme has been extended till July 31.

Following requests from the public, the scheme can now be utilised by media representatives, government officers, past and present defence personnel and their families, educational institutions and universities.
