Over 950 fake IMFL bottles seized

CHENNAI: Police seized over 950 fake Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) bottles concealed in three vehicles in the city on Friday.

Police said that during a routine vehicle check at Madhavaram, an autorickshaw was spotted speeding away though it was signalled to stop. Police chased and stopped the autorickshaw and found it was transporting 384 fake IMFL bottles kept in three boxes. Garden Domnique Broka (38) and autorickshaw driver Baskar (35) were taken into custody.

On their information, police intercepted a car at Kallikuppam.

A total of 480 fake IMFL bottles were found in the car. Also, two youth carrying 96 fake IMFL bottles were cornered and apprehended.
