Teach human values, varsities told

PUTTAPARTHI: Varsities across the globe should impart modern education with human values, said Satya Saibaba here on Friday.

In his discourse on the occasion of ‘Guru Purnima’ attended by a large gathering of devotees, he said human values in education would teach the students the practice of truth, righteousness, peace and love in life.

Earlier, he released a book on ‘Essence of Bhagavadgita’ authored by Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil in Marathi and Hindi languages. The book comprises chapters of Bhagavadgita interspersed with Satya Saibaba’s ‘shlokas.’ The Home Minister arrived in the spiritual town on Thursday night to participate in Guru Purnima celebrations. He left for Bangalore by road on Friday.

Cultural programmes including music concerts by Malladi Brothers and students of Sri Satya Sai Music College were held in the evening at Sai Kulwanth Auditorium.
