Detained under Goondas Act

CHENNAI: Commissioner of Police R. Sekar on Saturday ordered the detention of a man allegedly involved in cases of land grabbing and cheating, under the Goondas Act.

Police said Jagannathapadian was accused in a case of taking over 32 acres of land worth about Rs. 300 crore by using fake documents. He had also cheated a nationalised bank of Rs. 75 lakh by presenting a fake demand draft.
