847 medical conditions included for treatment and coverage under the scheme There are 6.5 lakh white ration card holders in Hyderabad district HYDERABAD: Over 30,000 patients attended and enrolled themselves in the much awaited Arogyasri screening camp, which was held for the first time in twin cities at Nizam College Grounds on Saturday. The mammoth health camp was inaugurated by Minister for Health and Family Welfare Sambani Chandrasekhar. All the Arogyasri empanelled hospitals, including corporate hospitals, took part in the screening camp, which essentially was held to identify patients needing surgeries and other small procedures. Authorities have informed that about 847 different medical conditions have been included for treatment and coverage under the scheme. White card holdersThe district health officials are also making arrangements to take up distribution of Arogyasri health cards through fair price (FP) shops between July 22 and 23. There are 6.5 lakh white ration card holders in Hyderabad district to whom the Arogyasri health cards would be distributed through the ration shops. District Joint Collector N. Mukteshwar Rao has informed that Anganwadi workers, Mandwal Literacy Organisers, ANMs would be pooled up to ensure smooth distribution of the health cards. Those unable to collect health cards at fair price shops before July 23 can collect the same from Mandal Revenue Offices. Medicines providedApart from identifying patients for various surgeries, patients were also given drugs for various ailments. “Basically, this camp is to screen patients and send them to various departments. Regular affairsThose who have missed out today don’t have to worry because such camps would be conducted on a regular basis,” Minister Sambani Chandrasekhar said. The camp was attended by 150 doctors from various government hospitals and another 52 doctors from private hospitals.
