Constituencies sorted out

BHUBANESWAR: The Orissa Government on Saturday has said that the reorganisation of constituencies for 147 State Assembly seats and 21 Lok Sabha seats had been completed.

Although there has been no increase in numbers of seats for both Assembly and Lok Sabha, the total voting booths have been increased from present 26,250 to 31,392.

The voters’ list would be published on Monday (July 21) and for the photographs of each voter would be displayed in the list for the first time.

Those who would find their names missing or any mistakes the list could approach office of electoral registration officer (Sub Collector) and the Assistant Electoral Registration Officer (BDO). They could apply afresh on the application forms available in those offices between July 21 and August 4. According to a government notification, the applicants should have to submit two photographs for obtaining the photo identity card.

It is to be noted that there are about 2,73,83,819 voters in the State as mentioned in the latest voters list. Of the total 2,73,54,656 are general voters and 29,163 are service voters. About 9 .31 lakh voters were added in the list.
