CHENNAI: There may be load-shedding for one hour during the night in the Kodambakam, K.K.Nagar and Guindy areas due to a damage in an extra high-tension underground cable, according to the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB). A release from TNEB said the cable between Taramani and Velachery was damaged during works undertaken by Chennai Metrowater recently. Due to this, a power shortage of 25 MW is expected in South Chennai areas. The Board has made all efforts to rectify the cable fault before July 23. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
