Construction worker fatally beaten up

CHENNAI: A construction worker from Andhra Pradesh died after he was allegedly beaten up by some of his colleagues at New Washermenpet here on Sunday.

Police said Srinivasan (40) of Kakinada was staying with his colleagues in a marriage hall. On Sunday night he was roughed up following an altercation.

He was admitted to the Government General Hospital where he succumbed on Monday.

The accused were said to be absconding. The New Washermenpet police have registered a case.
