AMCE, AVCE take crowns

TIRUCHI: Anjalaiammal Mahalingam CE (AMCE) and AVC CE clinched the men’s and women’s crowns respectively in the Anna University Zone-8 inter-collegiate table tennis tournament at Saranathan EC here on Monday.

The results (finals): Men: Anjalaiammal Mahalingam CE bt AVC CE 3-1 (V. Muthumanickam lost to R. Vijay 6-11, 11-9, 3-11, 7-11; S. Vinoth bt V. Karthik 11-2, 11-7, 11-8; B. Ganesh Babu bt R. Ilamparithi 11-5, 11-3, 11-9; S. Vinoth bt R. Vijay 4-11, 11-8, 12-10, 6-11, 11-3).

Women: AVC CE bt Periyar Maniammai CTW 3-1 (D. Susithra bt Gowthami 11-1, 11-2, 11-7; M. Manonmani lost to P. Shakthi 5-11, 6-11, 6-11; Ramya bt Revathi 11-5, 11-8, 11-7; D. Susithra bt P. Shakthi 11-3, 11-5, 11-2).
