Agriculture technology management agency approves the outlay Chittoor: The governing body of the agriculture technology management agency on Tuesday approved its action plan with an outlay of Rs. 1.90 crore for the year 2008-09. The meeting was chaired by district Collector M. Ravi Chandra. Break-upAtma project director K. Ramachandram said Rs. 54.91 lakhs has been allocated for agriculture, Rs. 41.18 lakhs for horticulture Rs. 11.08 lakhs for sericulture Rs. 10.55 lakhs for fishi culture Rs. 31 lakhs for dairy Rs. 3.40 lakhs for social forestry Rs.18.70 lakhs for sugar industry 0.75 lakhs for drip irrigation Rs. 15.85 lakhs for ward voluntary organisation Rs. 2.97 lakhs for Acharya Ranga Krishi Vignanan Kendram and Rs. 0.55 lakhs for Yeruvaka Kendram. He said that Agriculture Department has proposed to cultivate gaur seed and castor crops as alternative to groundnut crop during this year. Alternative cropThe members of the governing body requested the authority to include ‘goruchikudu’ and sweet Jowar crops also as alternative to groundnut crop. Dwama P.D.
