Notice ordered on Guru’s petition

CHENNAI: The Madras High Court on Wednesday ordered notice on a habeas corpus petition filed by J. Gurunathan alias Guru, president of the Vanniar Sangam, challenging his detention under the NSA and seeking a direction to authorities to set him free.

A Division Bench, comprising Justices D. Murugesan and S. Palanivelu, ordered the notice returnable in six weeks. — Special Correspondent
