Nedumbassery: Four persons, including a woman, were killed and nine others sustained injuries in two road accidents on National Highway 47 near the airport here on Wednesday. Three persons were killed on the spot when a coal-laden lorry hit the rear of a parked lorry full of cattle at Parambayam around 1.30 a.m. Four head of cattle were killed. The dead are Abu, 58, from Manjeri, driver of the coal-laden lorry; Rashik, 22, cleaner, and Kannan, 48, of Kollengode in Palakkad, a pedestrian. The police said the driver lost control of the vehicle. Naseera Bhanu, 25, of Palakkad was killed when a tourist bus ran a Mahindra Scorpio car over at Kariyad junction at noon.
