The allowance is for students travelling to the West, Far East and South East Asian countries Those with one way ticket to Australia can have free baggage of 40 kg plus 10 kg extra HYDEERABAD: Air India is offering special extra baggage allowance for students travelling to the West, Far East and South East Asian countries on Air India flights till October 31 to promote student travel. Those with a student visa can avail this special offer. Outbound journey onlyThe facility of additional free baggage allowance is available only for outbound journey. Students travelling on Air India services to Frankfurt/Paris/London/Birmingham or via Frankfurt/Paris/London to interior points in UK/Europe can avail additional free baggage allowance of 20 kg. i.e. total 40 kg. Through ticketThe additional baggage allowance will also be applicable to students travelling on IC flights within India and connecting to Air India flights to the United Kingdom/Europe provided they are travelling on a through ticket. Students travelling to Singapore/China/New Zealand on Air India/Indian Airlines flights will be allowed to carry a total free baggage of 40 kg in their outbound journeys. Students travelling on one way tickets to Australia on Air India flights can avail a free baggage allowance of 40 kg plus extra baggage allowance of 10 kg i.e. amounting to a total baggage of 50 kg. Additional pieceStudents travelling from India to gateway points in the US can carry one additional piece weighing 23 kg on Air India flights i.e. a total free baggage allowance of 69 kg for three pieces. This is applicable for travel on or before 31st March 2009.
