Guru ‘Gaddi’ taken out in procession

CHENNAI: The Chennai Sikh Youth Federation organised a procession of the Guru ‘Gaddi’ in the city to commemorate the 300th anniversary of the Guru Granth Sahib on Wednesday.

Thousands of Sikhs from the city and other States participated in the event.

The procession stopped before the Raj Bhavan in the afternoon.

Governor Surjit Singh Barnala, his wife Surjeet Kaur and their family members received the procession.

M.P.Singh, a participant in the procession, said the procession halted at Guru Nanak College in Velachery for a function and returned to the gurdwara in T. Nagar where the programme concluded with prayers.
