Training programme in solid waste management

Chennai: A group of town panchayat leaders and officials from Kancheepuram district participated in a training programme in solid waste management here on Tuesday.

The Commissionerate of Town Panchayats had organised the workshop in association with voluntary organisation Exnora International.

521 town panchayats

According to a press release, 521 of the 561 town panchayats have taken up composting of biodegradable waste.
