Narayana Tirtha Jayanthi held
At Sri Sivaramakrishna Kshwtram, Vijayawada, the nine-day Guru Aradhana musical feast was followed by 333rd Jayanti of Narayana Teertha whose great work Srikrishna Leela Tarangini stood as an inspiration to dancers, singers and bha
jan troupes all over south India. Swarajhari Sabha organised the utsavam with C. Raghavachari, eminent journalist and scholar T.S. Ramachandra Rao, chairman of Sadguru Narayana Teertha Trust as speakers. They explained Narayana Teertha’s lyrical excellence and his life history. The meeting was followed by Taranga ganam rendered with devotional fervour by T.S. Ramachandra Rao, Modumudi Sudhakar, Malladi brothers Sriram Prasad and Ravi Kumar, Maganti Bharathi, Anjana Sudhakar, Deevi Ravikant, Deevi Prameela, Popudri Gowrinath, L.Meenakshi, Srisahithi, Srimahathi, Malladi Nagalakshmi and some junior asrtistes. Some of the Tarangams that figured in the renditions were, Govardhana Giridhari, Saranambhava(Devagandhari), Krishnam Kalaya Sakhi (Mukhari), Govinda ghataya (Kambhoji), Pooraya Mama Kamam (Bilahari), Deva Devam (Sindubhairavi) Veekshekada Deva Devam, Madhava mamava deva Neelambari, Nanda nandana gopala (Bilahari) and Alokaye. Fine instrumental support was provided by Ampolu Muralikrishna, B.V. Durgabhavani and Neti Pavankumar on the violin and K. Sadgurucharan, N.S. Kalyanaraman and K.Sai Giridhar on the mridangam. Raghuram Hari, M. Haribabu and S.A. Phanibhushan supported on ghatam. Raghuram Hari also lent support on the morsing to some of the vocalists.
