VN Sports Club posts win

BANGALORE: VN Sports Club defeated Nationals (Mysore) 42-28 in the State Youth (under-16) basketball championship at the Sree Kanteerava stadium here on Thursday. VN Sports Club led 23-16 at half time.

In the girls’ encounter, Belgaum beat Bharath Sports Union 29-16 with Meghana leading the charge with nine points.

Two matches were not played as Durgans got a walk-over from Viveknagar SC and Brothers (Bijapur) advanced without breaking into sweat as Greens (Davangere) failed to turn up.

The results: Boys: VN Sports Club 42 (Akash Subbaiah 15, Nikilesh 11) bt Nationals (Mysore) 28 (Sufiyan 10, Sharad 10). Girls: Belgaum 29 bt Bharath S.U 16. — Special Correspondent
