Mock drill: Officials of bomb disposal squad conducting a demo at Kacheguda on Thursday. — HYDERABAD: “Respond immediately if you notice an abandoned object in public places and alert the police.” This was the message given to porters, auto-rickshaw drivers, security guards and railway staff at the Security Sensitisation Camp organised by the Railway Protection Force in coordination with City Security Wing (CSW) at Kacheguda railway station on Thursday. The CSW officials also gave a power-point presentation explaining how terrorists targeted public places in different parts of the country. The authorities gave a demo on the way in which terrorists stuffed explosive substances in bags, florists, tiffin boxes and suitcases and executed blasts. People should be cautious if they notice abandoned objects and vehicles besides persons moving under suspicious circumstances, said CSW Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Ch. Ramachander. He said anti-national elements wanted to destabilise the country’s economy by triggering bomb blasts at vital installations and other public places. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
