ADILABAD: Adilabad Joint Collector G. Ravi Babu on Friday suggested managements of petrol pumps to ration out diesel to the lorries that go towards Maharashtra. He said the lorries that enter Maharashtra from Adilabad fill their tanks thereby causing some short supply of diesel in town. The Joint Collector said because fuel was cheaper in Andhra Pradesh, lorry owners preferred to get tanks full at Adilabad that was the last town near the border. He also asked officials to check whether large contracting firms had proper licence to stock diesel. He expressed anguish over the LPG dealers for the plethora of complaints received by the Civil Supplies department regarding faulty supply of LPG cylinders. Asking them to improve the services immediately he said the cylinders under Deepam scheme should be supplied to villages directly. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
