Thotapalli waters for 15,000 more acres

VIZIANAGARAM: Minister for Housing Botcha Satyanarayana has said that the Government accorded administrative approval for excavation of the Gajapathinagaram branch canal linking the Thotapalli right main canal at a cost of Rs.70.47crores.

At a press conference on Saturday, he said that the branch canal would provide irrigation to 15,000 more acres beyond Gadigedda in Garividi, Gurla, Merakamudidam, Gajapathinagaram and Dattirajeru mandals that were not covered by the Thotapalli project in the district earlier. The tenders would be invited shortly and the work completed in the next one year.
