Jammu: Pakistani troops fired heavily at the Indian forces at a forward post in Krishna Ghatti sector in Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday, a defence spokesman said here. However, the Indian troops exercised restraint and did not retaliate, Lieutenant Colonel S.D. Goswami told PTI. The spokesman said some unidentified ultras fired about three rounds of Rocket Propelled Gun at the Indian post in Nagri Tekri area of Krishna Ghatti sector of Poonch district this morning. It was followed by heavy firing by Pakistani troops from across the Line of Control and continued till afternoon, he said. “India violated truce”Nirupama Subramanian reports from Islamabad: Pakistan accused India of violating the truce on the Line of Control on Saturday and said the “unprovoked” firing by Indian troops had forced it to retaliate. Major-General Abbas said the firing from the Indian side began at about 10 a.m. “They were the first to fire and engaged our forward post at Battal [in Hajira sector].” He said Pakistani troops retaliated.
