TIRUPATI: A second year B.Com student, Rukmini, was found murdered and her body thrown in the midst of bushes abutting the Tirupati west railway station in the early hours of Saturday. Getting swiftly into action, the police have rounded up her classmate Ravi Teja and arrested him on charges of murder. The cold-blooded murder sent shock waves by dawn in the western colonies of the city. The girl had left on Friday evening for tuition classes, but never returned home. Her parents, on being alerted by their kin about an unidentified corpse lying near the railway track, rushed to the spot and found the body damaged beyond recognition. The shapeless face was apparently smashed by a boulder. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
