Water donation only Rs. 200 now

VIJAYAWADA: White ration card holders from now on will have to pay just Rs.200, instead of Rs.1,250 as in vogue until now, towards donation to get domestic water connection. To encourage more number of people to take water connections, the Government has issued GO 1089, lowering the donation for water connections.

Disclosing the details here on Saturday, Deputy Mayor Samanthapudi Narasaraju said that the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) had set for itself a target of providing tap connections to all 2.7 lakh households in the city.

A special drive would be taken up in every division so that every family could be covered under the scheme, he said.Congress floor leader Kalapala Ambedkar, former floor leader Kunuku Rajasekhar, corporators Adapa Seshu, Qadar were present.
