HYDERABAD: The government on Saturday appointed Vice-Chancellors to the six new universities set up in different parts of the State afresh. V. Gopala Reddy, former Vice-Chancellor of Kakatiya University has been named Vice-Chancellor of Palamuru University set up at Mahabubnagar. Similarly, C. R. Visweswara Rao, professor of SV University, Tirupati, is appointed Vice-Chancellor of the Vikramasimhapuri Viswa Vidyalayam, Nellore. The names of the Vice-Chancellors appointed to other four new universities are: S. V. Sudhakar -- Ambedkar University (Srikakulam), M. K Durga Prasad -- Krishna University (Machilipatnam), J. V. Prabhakar Rao -- Rayalaseema University (Kurnool) and Iqbal -- Satavahana University (Karimnagar). Prof. Sudhakar, who belongs to Srikakulam district, is at present chairman of Board of Studies of Social Work, AU. Prof. J.V. Prabhakara Rao, a commerce and management professor, completed his term of Principal of AU College of Arts and Commerce a few months ago.
